Bakerzin

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! May 2016 be your amazing year :)

This is my first post in this new year! Cheers!
Bakerzin is one of the most popular restaurant of Boga Group, which is the only one which serves Western food. Whenever I have no idea where to meet up with my friends, Bakerzin always comes on my mind. Few days ago, I had a simple yet satisfying lunch at Bakerzin Central Park, fortunately I got some Boga Group vouchers, and got to redeem it. Enough to talk, let's check it out :

Lychee Iced Tea (30k). Simple, yet refreshing on this hot weather! Hmm, yeah, hot weather, recently the weather changing in a short time.

Calamary Tower (50k). A stack of  deep fried crispy calamari. From its presentation, it's so appetizing which looks like a tower of building. Even it wasn't really crispy, at least it wasn't oily at all and tasted pretty good. Well, it was such a nice starter for my lunch.

Salmon Steak (125k). Grilled salmon served with sautéed baby potatoes and vegetables. The portion of the salmon was very generous, along with delicious taste. Unfortunately, it wasn't grilled to perfection, the left edge part of the fish was the only one which had crispness. Hence, they should pay more attention to the details. But, for sure, this was a decent salmon steak.

Baby Chicken (195k). Baked whole baby chicken served with baby potatoes and pocai (vegetable). Inside the whole baby chicken is stuffed creamy spinach that made this dish interesting. The baby chicken baked very well with delish and flavorful spices and had juicy and tender texture, proved by it was so easy to cut it into pieces. Thinking about the price, it maybe a bit pricey but believe me, it's good to share with 2-3 pax of your family or friends, and I'm definitely sure I couldn't ever finish it by myself. Drooling now!

Banana Pizza (60k). Caramelized banana with crispy puff pastry with mascarpone and vanilla ice cream. Consists of 4 slices pizza shape, this dish is a must-try. I really love the thinness and crispness of the puff pastry, crunchy yet addictive. The only bad thing is it was a bit overcooked, so some parts were burnt and turned it a bit off. Hope they would make it better next time. Well done!

Shirayuki - Christmas 2015

It's Christmas time! The most wonderful time of the year. Well, I'm always amazed with Shirayuki's super creative team that always make uber cute seasonal dessert. Each season, different theme. For you who haven't tried dining at Shirayuki, then you should do it now at this holiday season, they currently have 2 outlets; PIK and Taman Anggrek Mall. Now, it's time for me to show you my post-Christmas lunch at Shirayuki PIK :

Let's start with the main courses :

Cabe Ijo Bianco (41k). A brilliant idea for pasta lover with Indonesian taste. So it's basically aglio olio spaghetti served with tangy cabe ijo, prawn, mushroom, and eggplant. When it was served on my table, the tangy cabe ijo aroma was really tempting. No doubt, this is my favorite dish at Shirayuki!

Nasi Goreng Cabe Ijo (around 30k). If you're not a pasta lover, you'd like to try this, the decent nasi goreng cabe ijo. The nasi goreng cabe ijo is served with of course, cabe ijo, red chilli, mushroom, eggplant, and little pieces of krupuk. The taste is quite the same with the cabe ijo bianco, pretty decent, and I do like the crunchiness of the krupuk when it came together with the nasi goreng, just add more sensation into your mouth.

Hokkaido Baby Cheese Tart. Accompanied with rose-vanilla hot tea.
I really love the cheese tart, from the presentation I was sure this would be definitely great, and it was true. The cheese tart has flavourful cheesy taste- not too sweet, just enough for me. It has crisp pastry base with soft and moist cheese filling. Moreover, the cheese filling was beautifully melting in my mouth, it's such a great mini cheese tart. Perfect with a cup of hot tea!

Rudolph The Nutty Sandwich. This is their limited edition dessert creation for this year's Christmas. Uber cute, isn't it?
Rudolph is the peanut butter with caramelized nuts ice cream, served with choco brownies topped with Mr. Santa (made of strawberry, marshmallow, and whipped cream), Christmas tree (made of cones with pie), and also caramel popcorn. Note: Everything is edible! So don't worry guys.

Good job Shirayuki! For another super unique creation of Christmas theme dessert dish.

Fok Luk Sau (revisited again)

Long time not post the review (I was super busy with uni and other things), here I give you the review to one of my favorite Chinese restaurant, where you can have yumcha (dimsum) and also lunch/ dinner along with your family with good Chinese food and good ambiance.

Deep fried beancurd spring roll with shrimp & chives (around 20k). Each portion comes with 3 pcs of beancurd spring rolls. I like how crispy its texture was, and moreover the generous shrimp fillings made it good.

Shanghai pork dumpling "Xiao Long Bao" (around 22k). XLB is one of my favorite dimsum dish, and I never miss it in every dimsum places. I have to admit this one was so good, the broth filling just made my day brighter. Really, a must-try.

Fok Luk Sau BBQ Meat Combination (around 220k). The combination consists of roasted duck, roasted chicken, and jelly fish with spicy sauce. My favorites goes to the roasted chicken, it was crispy outside and tender inside. The roasted duck was just okay, well-seasoned and the jelly fish was okay. Anyway, the portion was great to share with your family.

Stir-fried Hongkong Kailan in 2 flavors (around 80k). The Hongkong kailan was cooked in 2 ways, the leaves was fried with garlic and chillis; and the stem parts was stir-fried with garlic. I love their unique concept to make this as a great vegetable dish. One thing I missed, it was a bit too salty. But still okay.

Deep fried beancurd stuffed with minced chicken. I forgot the price, but this dish was acceptable and just okay. The beancurd was soft and smooth, the minced chicken was combined with fried eggs on the hotplate.

Braised chicken with wine, vinegar, soya sauce and basil in claypot (around 80k). It was delicious yet flavorful with nice aroma. The basil aroma was very dominant and made me drool now!

Almond pudding with longan and sago (around 30k). I almost never skip dessert on my lunch. Almond pudding is a common dessert dish which is served at many Chinese restaurants. When I tried this at Fok Luk Sau, it was surely one of the best I ever had. You guys gotta try it!
