The Fctry Bistro & Bar

There's a new member of Puri neighbourhood, called The Fctry Bistro & Bar. They've just opened since the beginning of June. I was curious about this place, because I saw many people posted photos in instagram about this place. The interior is designed with factory atmosphere, as you can see on their tables&chairs, high ceiling, wall decoration with machine stuffs, open kitchen, etc. Curious about their food? Minute Steak (90k). Thinly sliced medium rib eye steak served with creamy mushrooms and crispy potato latkes (don't know the exact name). I love how the rib eye steak is sliced thinly, it maked me easier to eat because I'm wearing braces rite now! The steak is pretty delicious, juicy and tender. The creamy mushrooms and the crispy potato latkes were okay. I couldn't find anything wrong with this, maybe just the portion isn't too big. FYI, this is their brunch menu. Well, I think they were doing great for this dish! Well done :9

Aglio Olio (80k). Classic aglio olio served with crispy bacon. Aglio olio will always has a space in my heart, it's one of my comfort food- whenever I come to a restaurant, I usually order it. In here, I find this is a great dish. The spaghetti was cooked well, not overcooked and certainly tasty. I like the crispy bacon much! In my opinion, this aglio olio's portion is more generous than the minute steak. Unfortunately, it was a little bit too oily for me. But, worth to try though :)

Chocolate Lava Cake (38k). Chocolate lava cake served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Me likey this so much! Even though the chocolate cake wasn't baked perfectly- it wasn't really melting, but the taste isn't doubtful! Believe me, this is so good as you can see on the mouth-watering photo. I just couldn't stop eat this seriously, I really enjoyed the sensation of the mix of the choco cake and the ice cream. YUM!

Overall, I enjoyed my lunch time here. They serve decent food and the place is quite nice. But one thing you have to know, I was surprised that the place is very small, not like as seen on many photos *effect of the high ceiling. Luckily, the food were great! I came here at lunch time and since the place is small, I had to be on the waiting list and it took quite long to wait. My advice, you come here on weekdays or earlier before lunch/dinner time. Because the place is newly open so many people will pay a visit to try. About the service, hmm maybe because the place isn't big they only employ some waiters- understandable but it affects the slow service for customers. They should give attention to that. The prices of the food are a little bit pricey for the area. Lastly, I think I will come back to try another dish: their famous crispy pork belly :P

Imperial Lamian

Last week, I went to Grand Indonesia special for visiting Imperial Lamian to fulfill my crave of Lamian! What is Lamian? For you who doesn't know, Lamian is a type of Chinese noodle which is made by stretching and folding the dough into strands (based on wikipedia). You can enjoy lamian at many Chinese restaurants in Jakarta. One of the best place to eat lamian is Imperial Lamian which I'm goin to review.. Scroll down!!!

  

Xiao Long Bao - Pork (18k). Shanghai steamed minced pork dumpling. WARNING. This is not halal. The pork filling was a bomb! And it was ADDICTED. FYI, there's a technique to eat xiao long bao, like an art of eating. I won't explain it here, you can googling it ;) I love the broth so much, so flavorful! Especially the pork fillings.. Superb delish! I always order XLB whenever I wanna have a dimsum. Imperial Lamian's XLB is one of the best in Jakarta :9

Fried Noodle with Pork Char Siu (32k). Ahhh this was so good! I was shocked when it arrived at my table, the portion was huge! I couldn't finish it by myself. The portion is should be for 2 persons. This noodle is delicious. The pork char siu was good, juicy and tender. The only negative thing is... this noodle is quite oily. Oily means not good for your health :( But the taste is so good seriously. You guys gotta try it!

Lamian with Sliced Beef in Chili Oil (40k). Based on the menu, it has three chilis logo which means it is extremely hot. Hence, I asked the waiter if the chili oil could be separated with the noodle, and he said yes. I did that coz I couldn't eat a dish which is very hot. Not fan of chili actually. Well, I really love the lamian! the broth! the sliced beef! All of them. The lamian was quite thin and very delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful. The sliced beef was thin, juicy, and tender. It's such a perfect dish. Thanks for made me and my tummy happy :9 RECOMMENDED.

Iced Milk Tea (15k). It was okay.

Overall, I really recommend this Chinese restaurant to everyone! Good food with very affordable price, good service, good place, good ambiance! I love the lamian so damn much. The service was fast and friendly. FYI, the restaurant is always full-packed at lunch and dinner time, so.. you'd better come early if you don't wanna be on the waiting list. Imperial Lamian will always have a place in my heart, seriously. One of the best lamian in Jakarta. Not only the lamian, they also offer wide variety of Chinese food you can try. And not all of them are non-halal though. You all guys should pay a visit ;) I'll come back for sure. VERY RECOMMENDED.

Nutmeg Cuisine & Bar

I wasn't really familiar with Kemang area, but I got a dining voucher at Nutmeg Cuisine & Bar and I had a chance to pay a visit. It wasn't hard to find it, since it's located at the Kemang Raya road. The entrance was so vintage yet eye-catching. Let's take a look at what I ordered :

Chicken Piccata (75k). Chicken bites with mixed mushroom, leek srouts and Parisienne potato. FYI, this is exactly a main course. I thought it looked like a soup for appetizer rite? I like the cream, not overpowered and very light. The chicken bites were easily to bite, juicy and tender. The Parisienne potato was nice. Pretty good dish. The portion wasn't really generous. But luckily I was quite full at that time.

Overall, I really love their interior so much! Especially the cutest chair I ever seen! It's like an icon for the restaurant, I mean if you see a photo of that chair you'll know it's only at Nutmeg. The place is so cozy and comfort, it maked me wanna sit their all day along. I think you should go here with your friends, as this place is nice to chat, dine, and hangout. Located at the Kemang area, I'm pretty sure this place is full-packed every lunch and dinner time. I wasn't impressed with the food, but I think I have to go back to try another dish.
